Rural Outreach Center

A portion of every registration will be donated to the Rural Outreach Center. Please help this worthy organization through your additional donation.

Based in East Aurora, ROC’s mission is to break the cycle of rural poverty by accompanying people towards self-sufficiency. We assist, empower, and elevate.

There are over 40,000 people in poverty in the southern WNY zip codes we serve. Rural poverty is called the invisible poverty because it is hidden and dispersed across a wide geographic area, making it difficult to provide services. The ROC is here to fill that service gap.

- walk/run/bike and afterwards use google maps, mapmyrun, or plot-a-route to get distance.
- treadmills and bike trainer programs are allowed if they provide distance.
- NOT ALLOWED - daily steps accumulated on a fitness app or golfing, etc. - not primary activity.
- NOT ALLOWED - converted miles, ie: estimating how far you would have run based on how much time was spent biking.
- NOT ALLOWED - scooters, e-bikes, skate boarding, rollerblading, horseback riding, hang gliding, surfing, etc.
- ALLOWED - crawling, skipping, strolling on a measured course. Unicycles, tricycles, big wheels on a measured course (if Bike or Run/Bike category).

Can multiple entries be made in one day (ie: I ran twice)
Yes and No. Only one entry per activity per day will be counted. So:
- If you plan to perform an activity multiple times per day, enter the total time and total distance for that day.
- If you already made an entry for that day, simply re-enter the same date and the total time and total distance. Your prior entry will be REPLACED.
- The exception is run-bike division, who can enter time for both a run and a bike on the same day.

Can I correct an entry made in error?
Yes you can. At the top of your entry form, set the activity date to the date of the entry to be corrected, then simply enter the correct miles and time. Your original entry will be replaced by the new information.

Can I use any miles for runs or rides done before or after the couse/event dates?
Sorry, no. Only runs or bike rides performed between the start and end dates of each course/event can be counted. The entry form will either not allow or display an error if dates other than those allowed are entered.

Can I still enter miles if I missed a day or I signed up after the race start?
Yes, you can always go back to a prior day and enter your mileage. Be sure to change the activity date on the entry form for each prior entry otherwise the entries will over-write the previous one.
