The Original

NYSVR434 is an abbreviation for New York State Virtual Race 434 - 434 being the number of miles for the route from Niagara Square in Buffalo to Times Square in New York City. Log your miles beginning April 1 and through July 31.

Run, bike, or do both in the Run-Bike category. The distance - end to end - is 434 miles. Coincidence?

We'll again be making donations to Feedmore of Western New York.

Make this a family event!

Feedmore of WNY

more food. more good

We’ve come together to go further than plates and pantries. To put food on more tables. To provide companionship to more homebound neighbors. To inspire brighter futures for those who wish to provide for themselves. FeedMore WNY’s food bank (FB) and Meals on Wheels (MOW) programs have been feeding the Western New York community for a combined history of more than 90 years. In 2020, our feeding programs have served more than 16 million meals to homebound neighbors and through our nearly 300 pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters and other hunger-relief agencies throughout Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties.

What kind of miles can be counted?
Miles can only be counted when that is the primary activity engaged in and it is measurable.
- use a premeasured course.
- use a device (ie Garmin) that will measure distance.
- walk/run/bike and afterwards use google maps, mapmyrun, or plot-a-route to get distance.
- treadmills and bike trainer programs are allowed if they provide distance.
- NOT ALLOWED - daily steps accumulated on a fitness app or golfing, etc. - not primary activity.
- NOT ALLOWED - converted miles, ie: estimating how far you would have run based on how much time was spent biking.
- NOT ALLOWED - scooters, e-bikes, skate boarding, rollerblading, horseback riding, hang gliding, surfing, etc.
- ALLOWED - crawling, skipping, strolling on a measured course. Unicycles, tricycles, big wheels on a measured course (if you dare).

Can multiple entries be made in one day (ie: I ran twice)
Yes and No. Only one entry per activity per day will be counted. So:
- If you plan to perform an activity multiple times per day, enter the total time and total distance for that day.
- If you already made an entry for that day, simply re-enter the same date and the total time and total distance. Your prior entry will be REPLACED.
- The exception is run-bike division, who can enter time for both a run and a bike on the same day.

Can I correct an entry made in error?
Yes you can. At the top of your entry form, set the activity date to the date of the entry to be corrected, then simply enter the correct miles and time. Your original entry will be rplaced by the new information.

Can I use any miles for runs or rides done before April 1?
Sorry, no. Only runs or bike rides performed between April 1 and July 31 can be counted. The entry form will either not allow or display an error if dates other than those allowed are entered.

Can I still enter miles if I missed a day or I signed up after the race start?
Yes, you can always go back to a prior day and enter your mileage. Be sure to change the activity date on the entry form for each prior entry otherwise the entries will over-write the previous one.
